Study in Russia
Strong engineering and medical schools, programmes in Russian and English, and an annual Russian Government quota for free tuition.

International students are admitted to bachelor's (4 years), specialist (5–6 years, including medicine) and master's (2 years) programmes. If you don't speak Russian yet, you can spend the first year at a preparatory faculty studying the language and core subjects.
Every year the Russian Government sets a quota for free tuition for international students, covering tuition and a place in a dormitory.

Entry and registration
Citizens of most CIS countries enter Russia without a visa. After arrival the university registers the student with the migration service, and the student completes a medical check and fingerprinting. For nationals of visa countries the university requests a study-visa invitation, which takes 3–4 weeks.
Student life
Almost all international students live in a university dormitory in their first year. Kazan and other regional cities are noticeably cheaper than Moscow. The academic year runs from September to June with a two-week winter break.
