Study in Austria
Public universities with low tuition fees, English-taught master's programmes and life in the heart of Europe.

Austria's public universities charge students from outside the EU about €727 per semester. Many master's programmes are taught in English; bachelor's degrees are mostly in German (B2–C1 required).

Student residence permit
Study longer than 6 months requires the "Aufenthaltsbewilligung – Student" residence permit. You apply at the Austrian embassy before travelling, with the admission letter, insurance, a housing contract and proof of funds.
Student life
Students live in student residences (Studentenheim) or share a flat. A semester ticket makes public transport in Vienna inexpensive, and student status brings discounts at museums and theatres.
